Here is some exciting news for the start of the new academic year! NCWIT (National Center for Women in Technology) sponsors an annual "Aspirations in Computing" recognition event. The Wisconsin Affiliate offers a local event each spring that recognizes over 150 girls for their work and aspirations in computing and the teachers who support them. More can be found at https://www.aspirations.org/get-involved/spread-the-word-about-ncwit-aic-awards. Applications are now open!
NCWIT (National Center for Women in Technology) offers three awards that honor computing aspirations, abilities, technical accomplishments, and influential guidance. The categories include 9th-12th grade women, genderqueer, and non-binary students; formal and informal educators; and women, genderqueer, and non-binary college students. Read about each award below and encourage individuals you know to apply. And encourage high school teachers and colleagues to promote these opportunities through their channels.

NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Educator Award
The AiC Educator Award identifies exemplary formal and informal educators who play a pivotal role in encouraging 9th-12th grade women, genderqueer, and non-binary students to explore their interests in computing and technology. Rather than being a teaching award, this award honors those who work inside and outside of classroom spaces to advocate for gender equity in computing by providing educational opportunities that are inclusive to — and supportive of — women, genderqueer, and non-binary students. Educator Award applications are due December 2, 2024. 8.5 x 11" Educator Award Information Flyer
NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) Collegiate Award

Conferred annually, the award recognizes each recipient's technical contributions to projects that demonstrate a high level of innovation and potential impact.
